BBA approved basement waterproofing system
Buildingtalk

Two cavity drain membranes available from Triton combine to deliver a BBA approved sealed system for contractors involved in the waterproofing of below ground structures.
System components include the two membranes, Platon Multi and Platon P20, together with a range of accessories designed for installation and sealing the system.
Cavity drain membranes provide an alternative to conventional cementitious tanking systems, which work by holding the water back.
The membranes work on the principle of allowing water to continue to penetrate the structure but then control it in the air gaps between the studs and divert it to a suitable drainage point.
Unlike cementitious systems they do not allow pressure to build up against the internal construction.
Little or no preparation is required to the substrate.

Platon Multi is a BBA approved, clear, polypropylene membrane which, after installation on walls, can be dry lined.
BBA approved Platon P20 is a heavy duty, deeper studded membrane with the ability to control free flowing water on floors below ground.
After installation Platon P20 can be screeded or dry boarded.
Triton also offers a further BBA approved membrane for walls - Plaster Base - which has an undercut stud design for direct plastering.
Platon Multi is fixed to the substrate using Platon Brick Plugs whilst all system joints and overlaps are sealed using products from Triton's range of butyl tapes and ropes.
The Platon Wall/Floor Junction is a pre-formed component which is installed to complete the sealed system.

For installations where natural drainage is inaccessible, Triton also supplies a complete "off the shelf" drainage system which is compatible with all Platon cavity drain membranes and comprises drainage channel, sump, pump and all fittings.
A new brochure containing information on all Triton's waterproofing systems is now available.
